You know, to help motivate the boys by creating some competition! So Katie Clayton had the idea to do a home decor business. I thought that would be super fun, so we started talking about it. I felt that Utah was pretty saturated, but that San Diego was seriously lacking. So we came up with a plan to have a booth at the upcoming Oktoberfest in La Mesa. This is our trial run. If this goes fabulously, we may continue. We have had a few run throughs and they have gone really well. Everybody seems to like our products here in Utah. So we will have to see how it is received in San Diego. We have a website that is seriously under construction but it is www.backhomedecor.com Keep in mind when you check it out that we have been focusing all our attention on getting ready for the fest. The website has maybe 1% of our products. So keep checking for updates.

For those of you in San Diego, please come visit our booth! Bring friends, and have fun! We can't wait to see you all! This should be a super fun weekend!Moreau'shttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17529829151834769674noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8586816773325389573.post-30659709520740047132009-09-16T18:32:00.003-06:002009-09-16T18:38:20.328-06:00Take a BITE out of Crime!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 389px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/SrGDzSWOa2I/AAAAAAAABDM/-bQfMbSvn5A/s400/Picture+1.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382227946806078306" />

Calling all neighbors!
Missing: Blue Mongoose Bike
Last seen: last night on our front lawn
Color: Blue
Pegs: lucky (Napoleon Dynamite) but yes there are pegs
Owner: is sad
Please keeps your eyes out for this lost bike. I looked at the clock and it was before 7 a.m. Dave had already left for work. I thought maybe it was him. When I said hello, my father-in-law said, "are you watching the news? Our country is under attack." I turned on the news and saw that the first plane had already crashed. I then saw the second plane go into the tower. I could not believe that this was happening on our nations soil. I never thought that we would be attacked here. I have been looking at this adorable photo for months. Each time I look I get a little teary. You see, this is a picture of my mom and dad, and their four young children. My mom was younger in this photo than I am now. I look at her, in her stylish dress with her necklace, and pumps. She looks so beautiful and so proud of her young family. I look at my dad, with his mustache and shiny shoes. They were just starting out. They had four kids that were so cute! What a good looking family. I think of how, in this picture, at that moment, they had their whole lives to look forward to. They did not know at this point that they would adopt two beautiful little girls, and years later have two more little girls, for a total of eight children. They did not know that in 10 years their oldest son would be diagnosed with cancer, and die two short years later. They did not know that two years after that, that lovely young mother would be diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, which would change her life forever. I look at her so full of life, and wonder if she would have done anything different had she have known what her future would hold.

Tonight I went to enrichment night, where we talked about being happy. One of the things that was shared was the importance of living in the moment. Taking advantage of the opportunities to enjoy our lives, and our children. I have thought about how important that really is. Life is so short! We have no idea what our future holds. Like that young mother in the picture, my mother, things can change so quickly. Live so that there are no regrets. Let go of all anger, bitterness. Forgive and move on.

When we were down in San Diego one of my best friends sister passed away. She was young, a mother of three the oldest is 13 and the youngest is 9. She had breast cancer that spread to her bones and then through her whole body. Her funeral was beautiful, she was such a good example of living in the moment, really living life. The week before she died she went to the temple and did sealings. She could not walk, but she wanted to be in the temple. It just made me think, we never know what our future holds. Make the most of your todays! I have a quote hanging on my wall it says...

Learn from the past
Live in the present
Prepare for the future

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/SqikTt1LHPI/AAAAAAAABC0/EeiejbLK_QA/s400/securedownload+copy.jpg" border="0"alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379730413521149170" />

Here is a similar picture of my young family. I want to take the example of the courageous women in my life and learn from them. I want to make every moment count and prepare for what my future may hold. Life is a beautiful thing! Lets be happy!

p.s. don't forget to call your mom and tell her you love her!Moreau'shttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17529829151834769674noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8586816773325389573.post-49637793518751220842009-09-09T08:57:00.003-06:002009-09-09T11:01:24.867-06:00nueve-neuf-novesummer fun in groups of nine
I know you have all been waiting to see what we were up to for the entire summer :)

summer started with Lauren dancing in the Stadium of FIRE!!! It was so much fun to watch her this year. We really enjoyed our first experience at the Stadium. It was so much fun, and so patriotic. I cried when they brought out all the different flags from our nations history! America really is a great country! The Jonas Brothers were very entertaining as well! We had a group of girls that were sitting in front of us, and they kept turning around to take a picture of the big screen that was behind us. The flash was driving my eyes crazy! Their screams were louder than the fireworks!
We went down to San Diego with some good friends. He worked for Summit Fasteners. He had the job for a little under a year. He felt inspired to leave his Irwin job to take this position that would allow him to stay in Utah. See Irwin wanted him to move to Seattle area. Later we would find out that they wanted to promote him, because they would be dissolving his position, and they did not want to lose him, since he was their top Field Product Specialist. We did not feel good about moving to Seattle. So, he decided to take this job with the local company. He had worked with these guys when he was with Irwin, he had a good relationship with them. He said the owner was like a father figure to him. So there was no hesitation to take the job. He worked there for 9 months. The first month he was there he brought in 10 new clients. The guy who had the position before him had brought in two new clients in the two years that he worked there. Dave was feeling pretty good about his efforts. He continued to bring in new customers and worked hard for this company.

The owner who if you remember he compared to a father figure had all of a sudden turned into this ogre. Nothing Dave did was good enough. He was continually being told that he was not earning his wage. Dave worked so hard for this guy, he never took a lunch, he was always doing deliveries on his way home to save the company a trip. He just went above and beyond for this company. The other co-owner said that Dave was doing awesome, and that these lectures that the owner would give him were just his way of motivating Dave. Well, needless to say this was taxing day after day. Dave started to hate his job. He would never quit, or tell them that he was miserable, that is not Dave's character. I knew, and those that stayed in our home knew how much this weighed on him. April 21nd the owner told Dave that he was going to have to cut his wages in half. Dave came home and we talked about it, we decided that some wage was better than no wage. He went back the next day and told the owner that he would except the wage cut. Well, then April 23rd the owner pulled him in, and told him that he was going to let him go, that it was strictly his decision and that it was nothing that he had done. Dave said okay, shook his hand and got his stuff out of the companies truck, and someone brought him home.

So we counted this as a blessing. He was no longer working for this miserably grouchy man, and we could start looking for a different job. Dave applied for unemployment, and we waited for the approval. He got a phone call a week later from the unemployment agency. The women who was assigned to his case said that he was fired for being beligerant, vulgar and showing signs of anger. Dave was floored. He said are you kidding me? She said no, and that it was her job to get his side of the story before she made any formal decisions. Dave told her that this was simply untrue. He gave her some character witnesses phone numbers and waited. Well the lady called back the next day and said that she does not know what is going on, the witnesses all affirmed that Dave is a nice, even keeled kind of person. She also could not retrieve any kind of paper trail. There was never anything documented that Dave had ever been spoken to, or was warned or anything. So the lady granted Dave his unemployment. Well Dave needless to say was really hurt by the slanderous words that his former employer had used against him. He could not believe that this man would lie, and say these horrible things about him. What little respect he had left for him was gone.

Dave had never been fired from a job. He took great pride in his work and his work ethic. This situation took a toll on his self esteem. It is a guy thing, that who you are is defined by the work that you do and how much money you make, etc. He was bummed that this had happened, but at the same time relieved that he did not have to deal with that disfunctional job anymore.

He has since been looking for a job, but has had no bites. We were not too worried, since we had a nice chunk in savings. Since he lost his job he has placed over 50 resumes out there. So, instead of waiting to be hired, he decided to create his own company. He and three other great guys are starting a Event Planning Business. They are calling it Extreme Event Prodcutions.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 133px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/SqFDtpwP0QI/AAAAAAAABCk/tZvA2EbUujw/s400/Extreme+Event+Productions+logo.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5377653881638473986" />

So if you guys know anyone who needs help planning any kind of event, please let Dave know. I am going to turn this into a Consequence Jar. My kids are good, don't get me wrong, but the fact is that they are kids, and well, sometimes they misbehave. My friend Andrea started the consequence jar a while ago, and she loves it. So, I am going to give it a try.

This is how it goes down. When your kids are naughty, after you teach them why what they are doing is not appropriate, you send them to the consequence jar. They get to reach in and pick something out of the jar. Andrea fills it with stuff that she does not enjoy doing, like cleaning the toilets, or wiping off the cupboards. I love this idea!

I need some suggestions! We love it! It is so fun to move and grove. Our dance teacher works really hard to choreograph and teach us the dances. She also finds ample places for us to perform our hard work for others to enjoy. So we each get two costumes, and about four places to compete. Costumes and competition fees can add up. so our creative, thoughtful teacher has come up with a way to earn money for all these fun things.

She has partnered with a Scentsy Wickless candle distributor. This wonderful lady will be donating her commission on each candle sold by the dancers. So...here is where you all come in... Do you need a present for Valentines Day, Birthdays, Mothers Day, Teacher appreciation day, Grandparents day, Secretary's day, a wedding present, or you just love Scentsy candles, then please order from Lauren and Kathren. Here is how you can...

Check out all the cool products on the Scentsy website at...
www.scentsy.com/aubrib
Or come on over, if you live in the area, and browse through the catalog.

Then when you find all the sweet smelling stuff your nose can handle, call me, or e-mail me what you want.
Make your check out to Andrea Olsen
No shipping charges
All orders and money need to be turned in by Thursday January 29, 2009
Products will be delivered to the studio by the 10th of February, so if you are out of state and want it for V-day, I will be coming to CA before then so no sweat!

Let's help these girls, and their parents, pay for all there competition fees and costumes!!!

Go Team!!!Moreau'shttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17529829151834769674noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8586816773325389573.post-11202335551727906862009-01-09T01:21:00.004-07:002009-01-09T01:29:05.116-07:00Two Little LOve Birds...<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 268px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/SWcJVg0e5jI/AAAAAAAABAw/_dqBe8fzoRw/s400/_DSC0015_02.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289206552561903154" />

Happy Anniversary you hunk a monk!

I love you!

This is an amazing ride we are on! It is piles of chewed gum. I know, GROSS!!! A while back, we had some friends over to play games. I had bought the large container of Dubble Bubble gum balls. I love Dubble Bubble. And the fact that they were gumballs brought a smile to my face, because when we went over to visit Grammy and Popie, they would always give the kiddos these gumballs. Anyway, that night I decided it would be fun to chew as many pieces as I could and stack them in a gum tower. There were a few at the table that wanted to join in the fun. They combined their chew into one pile in order to smoke me! Since that night, my jaw has had a nice popping that occurs when I open my mouth. Diagnosis TMJ! Needless to say, I will never buy those gumballs again nor will I ever compete against a table full of gum chewing fools. Good Times!Moreau'shttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17529829151834769674noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8586816773325389573.post-39963983436666690532008-12-10T17:14:00.002-07:002008-12-15T10:17:40.225-07:00I heart Caroling!If anyone feels the need to sing and serve, come to our evening of caroling! Yes there is! And My hubby entered their last competition and took first and second in his division!
Yay Dave!

We took the kids down to see all the different entries! People are really talented! I am amazed that people can take a block of wood and create such beautiful pieces of art. Dave is a duck carver. Next time you are at my house, ask to see his creations! Crafty...very crafty!

At the competition there was all kinds of carvings, from little figurines, fish, to huge horses.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/ST6n0YTQ0gI/AAAAAAAAA_U/IARNIn0ZIVM/s400/IMG_0233.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277840331643081218" />
There was a guy there who makes rocking horses to resemble your actual horse, all you would do is give him a picture of your horse, and six weeks later it would be in your home for your riding enjoyment!

The kids loved riding on them! I did this for years. Going to the beauty parlor every three months, spending two hours in the chair, paying 65+ dollars each visit. And that was with a discount. All for the golden streaks to be placed in may drab and dark hair. I loved having the lighter hair, but the maintenance was a bit menacing.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/ST1UmkdWnlI/AAAAAAAAA-k/bSGU699OUp8/s400/IMG_0832.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277467359946645074" />
When I was pregnant that maintenance care was canceled for a bit, due to the strange effect my hormones would have on the color. So when it was time to deliver my babies I would have nine months of root exposure. My true color.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/ST1eQwdzDOI/AAAAAAAAA-s/PZocsaV9MO8/s400/IMG_1861.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277477980328889570" />
After the birth of Lils, Dave and I decided it would be fun and economical if we dyed the hair with an over-the-counter purchase at Wal Mart. We thought that a dark golden blond would be perfect, not too light. Yet dark enough to not have to maintain that much. We put the dye on and waited. When the time was up, we rinsed and repeated, and dried, to expose the reddish hair. Roots were red, ends were blond. What?
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/ST1Sj2_b7zI/AAAAAAAAA-U/cenQux2_B28/s400/IMG_0169.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277465114358574898" />
My good friend told me to come over and she would fix it. So we dyed it a darker brown. It looked good for a while, but it faded as dyes do and left behind a mess of reddish roots, and green ends. (brown and blond make green) So I just put my hair in a pony tail, afraid to try anything else. (I just noticed Lillian's face in this picture...hilarious! If you look at my hair close you will see the reddish roots, and the green ends. It looks as if I had spent too many hours in the swimming pool)

So the other night I was complaining about my hair, talking to some friends about what I should do. Dave was eavesdropping and heard how I never wanted to wear my hair down, etc... So the next day he comes home from work early, hands me a gift certificate to a salon, and says your appointment is in half an hour. I was so surprised, and so thankful. I gave him a big hug, left him with all the kiddos, and two hours later my hair looked like this...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/ST1O2xymOmI/AAAAAAAAA-M/85sATJoz4Vw/s400/IMG_1841.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277461041333549666" />
What do you think?Moreau'shttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17529829151834769674noreply@blogger.com17tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8586816773325389573.post-10460494631584572642008-12-04T11:01:00.003-07:002008-12-04T11:10:54.908-07:00What the...<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/STgbRvrbBoI/AAAAAAAAA-E/FUh1TPUl8AE/s400/IMG_0197.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5275996955134854786" />

Early the other morning, Mr. West comes into our room crying. Dave jumps out of bed, and finds this bloody mess. Well being the great father that he is, he walks West into the bathroom, with blood literally dripping all over the floor, and instead of looking for the source of the wound he runs down stairs to get the camera. Nothing like capturing the moment! So at 4:30am my little guy is standing in the bathroom bleeding, while his Dad is trying to document this awesome sight. Then there is me, I was laying in bed barely coherent. It takes me a while to wake up! What kind of parents are we? After the photo was shot, he took care of the problem. It turned out to be a bloody nose. Now to pose a question. What do you do about night nose pickers?Moreau'shttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17529829151834769674noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8586816773325389573.post-8057522162643936562008-12-01T00:13:00.005-07:002008-12-01T00:22:31.956-07:00Letterpress Prints Launch!www.letterpressprints.com

Send us your feedback.

ThanksMoreau'shttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17529829151834769674noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8586816773325389573.post-76399301235575711362008-11-27T22:01:00.004-07:002008-11-27T22:21:32.339-07:00grateful<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 276px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/SS98sGP_UFI/AAAAAAAAA9g/vwhS6DWMnMI/s400/2744476573_a76a733802.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273570785707905106" />

I have seen on many blogs "Thankful Thursday" I love reading these posts. They remind me how much we each have to be thankful for.

On this, the ultimate Thankful Thursday, I would like to join the ranks and share some of the things I am most grateful for.

1. I give thanks for the glorious thing called body. Think about how miraculous the body is.

2. I give thanks for the five senses. I love being able to see, hear, smell, taste, and touch. I love to see my kids, my cute husband, and the beauties that surround us.
I love to hear the sound of a baby cooing, and the pitter of little feet running through the house. I love to smell pumpkin bread baking in the oven. I love to taste all food. I mean does everything have to taste so good? And touching, who doesn't love a great big hug.

3. I give thanks for family. How thankful I am for moms and dads, brothers and sisters, and children.

4. I give thanks for a testimony. I love that each of us can find truth in our lives, and find so much joy in living what we know to be true.

5. I give thanks for friends. Friendship is such an important aspect of life. Each of my friends (that's all of you) have influenced and enriched my life in such a special way. Thank you for all the good times, and sweet memories.

6. And most important, I give thanks for a loving God who knows each of us, and loves us all so much that he sent His son Jesus Christ to atone for all of our mistakes. I am so grateful for a Savior who makes it possible to feel better when we mess up.

Peace out
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.Moreau'shttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17529829151834769674noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8586816773325389573.post-39625508918616473582008-11-24T20:02:00.004-07:002008-11-24T20:37:00.912-07:00Happy Birthday West!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/SStx7H4X0GI/AAAAAAAAA9A/4-3qesbHQkY/s400/P1010124.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272433049309007970" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/SStx8LyhMuI/AAAAAAAAA9Y/ocJF_OtYbGY/s400/littlemoreaus037.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272433067538068194" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/SStx70UAC2I/AAAAAAAAA9Q/6cemeqej6hM/s400/West.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272433061236050786" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PxI1t2NJnys/SStx7qECvxI/AAAAAAAAA9I/s226zmU1lYg/s640/IMG_1007.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272433058484764434" />
Yesterday was our little guys third birthday!
